 …My mother’s mother, the woman in the hospital bed, is the matriarch of the four generations of women that I am a part of. Her diagnosis of colon cancer, a disease that stole the life of a wonderful colleague of mine just months before, was faced with strength and faith. She seemed to be perfectly at ease with whatever the outcome. No doubt she knows her place in heaven is secured and peacefully awaiting her arrival once her work here is done.
