Not a New Year’s Resolution
Happy New Year! And yes while this is my first blog entry in quite a while, I am not proposing a new year’s resolution like, “I am going to write in my blog more often/weekly/God forbid-daily” or whatever. I am writing because surprisingly, people are still reading my blog even though I have not written anything and I have some pressing issues that selfishly I want to promote and get feedback on. For those interested in giving feedback but don’t like to post comments (oddly, while I do write a fair amount online, I don’t comment either) you can contact me via e-mail.
Anyway, one of the things I have been busy doing during this hiatus is creating and launching a photography program for girls ages 8-12.
More to come on that. For now, here is my inquiry: what online photo programs do you like best? We are not interested exclusively in photo sharing. Generally I use Flickr or Facebook for that. I have also used Snapfish and Kodak. I am looking an online tool that allows us to upload the photos and that family, friends and any other interested party can order calendars, custom and pre-made books, mugs and other products but a portion of the proceeds go to the program. I’ve looked at Café Press so far. Any other ideas out there? In addition, we will be looking to do online fundraising for this initiative (it is completely free for the participating girls). I am familiar with Chipin but would appreciate additional ideas. This will also benefit Mahila projects as the organization prepares to launch those projects later this year. (Yes, more to come on that as well so these random project names actually mean something to you!) Thanks in advance and again Happy New Year!
